Overall Rating

Getting PREpared is the second volume in the excellent backcountry training series by Bill Burke of 4Wheeling America. Bill packs a lot of information into this 1.5 hour instructional DVD, covering topics as varied as vehicle modification, to camp cooking.

This DVD is an excellent primer for the novice OHV enthusiast, as the spectrum of information covered will surely wet their appetite for more knowledge and instruction. I found the Trip Planning and Personal Gear sections to be very well done, with several great ideas and sufficient detail. The "Bug Out Bag" topic certainly got my attention, and I had one put together within hours of watching the DVD. The DVD also includes an 11 page booklet, with all of bill's gear lists, which adds considerable value to the purchase.

The video would have scored higher if a few, less important chapters were cut, or combined, and more time was spent on the technical subjects, which is where Bill shines. So even though this volume falls a little short of the superb Getting UNStuck, it is worth the purchase.
