The Mercedes Benz Gelandewagen is a best of breed overlander, positioned at the first tier of expedition platforms. This reputation comes from decades of use by special forces teams around the globe. Fitted from the factory with a center, rear and front differential lock, fully boxed and reinforced frame, rolling gear change transfer case and robust axles, the G-Class needs little modification for serious exploration.

We purchased this excellent example from a friend in Utah who is the original owner. Our 1996 G-Wagon is a grey market import from Europa of New Mexico, and is a W463 platform, hand-built by Magna-Steyr in Austria.

The vehicle was purchased with a few modifications from stock:

Europa Brush Bar and Winch Mount
Warn 9,000 lb. Winch
PIAA Aux. Driving and Fog Lamps
Michelin 265/75 R16 AT Tires on factory 16x8 Wheels
Extreme Aire Compressor
Dual Odyssey Batteries with Xenarc Controller
Europa Side Steps
HD Custom Rear Bumper
Custom rear shelf unit with Hi-Lift and Pull-Pall Mount
Engel 45L Fridge on a Slide-Lock Mount

Our current plans for this vehicle are to address some minor rust at the base of the B pilar, which will include a repaint to white or silver. Installation of rocker protection. Installation of a new Warn winch. New springs and shocks, 255/85 R16 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain Tires and a few military application components for increased durability and performance. We will report on its progress as things develop.
